I still see one of them now and then running down the road with a full load or just parked and retired It gives me reward, like a ugene trophy.....30 plus years later. This one I did on the kitchen table drafting board. I did custom trailers and the truck equipment for specific jobs, this was a fun part for me. This was our first shop. I'm in this picture, working off the floor in the left of center behind the trailer. The floor was a great asset, it was a/k/a the lay out table. After the first year it was accelerating, moving from west eleventh in Eugene to a new shop we had built for us in Springfield on I-105 southwest of the 42nd street exit, it was fabulous, nice and warm in the winter and cool in the summer. This very trailer that you are looking at, I designed and hand fabricated. I built the first five my self, while building all the jigs and fixtures from the cab guard back that would be required to produce it. Then training our craftsmen to do the same, giving me time to develop the new products and run the floor show. I was 33 had lots of energy and needed it all, this was a labor and cash intensive industry. The competitors were very bold and big time by now, we new it and jumped in and dazzled them with our stuff. Ugene McCalligan.....Designer./Fabricator
