Ugene & his MG

I had been to San Francisco ,Sausalito and Los Angels a few times before this trip so I knew where to go/do.... on my last trip in December of 1954 I took my bud Jackson to the city with me in my 46 Chevy. I was 16 that trip. He had never seen the Golden gate bridge so as I was driving on this wonder I ask him what he thought of it .He said...."looks like a giant erector set"

This trip with Bill we were at my sister Mary Ellen and husband Ken McCurdy's place in the city. The Beat Generation folks were thick, hanging at the coffee houses/bookstores and clubs in North Beach, reading poetry, all drugged up molding a new socialistic America, the idiots. They seemed to think the government owed them a easy/free living....

A little later they moved with the colony from North beach to Sausalito.  It was the 50's, it was happening at the Hungry I and the Purple Onion, DiMaggio's by the Warf had the worst and over priced frog legs in town.

We were ready to blast off for the run down the coast to LA and more of our adventure, a Life's Advancer. Bill was at work shining up the little red racer

looking good, felling hip....off to meet some cat's down south and having a good time.  Springfield boys.
