My Grandma and Grandpa from my moms side. Mom would say, "If dad could find a poorer farm they would move on it". He died in 1949 at 56, blinded by diabetes and ending in heart failure. Never new much of this stuff when I was young. Isn't it amazing, the gene thing. I have diabetes typ2 and have had two heart attacks.

I never had the chance to meet him but was told I missed nothing but then I never met him so I don't know, looks like he was working his ass off just like every one else...plus the male-bashing seems to work that's ...progressive.......  I still wondered if he ever thought of us, it hasn't changed.....I know little to nothing about my grand kids.....but I do see them ..now have... 4 great grand babes.

I did see grandma, in the summer of 1950 and again in1953, we were back on vacation. She didn't seem like what I thought a grandma/a myth was going to be like but she really didn't know any of us we were 1700 miles from her so you can't know much and who had a phone, computer or TV in them days...it was good.. She was living in Ponca, Nebraska, not very well herself and died there in 1965 from Parkinson's disease.
