The McCalligan Family: JB, Dad ..top left to right.. Mary Ellen (2).........Ethel (1 oldest)......... Lillian (3)...........Rose Marie (5 youngest).........Ugene (4)........ Dads 1936 Chevy. This was 1947. As I sit here at my computer now a old man, looking at this photo of young kids. Myself and my sisters and knowing exactly how life has played out is pretty amazing to me. like a live time capsule or some such thing. Wondering if there would have been a way to make life better if you had taken some other unknown road, would this be altogether a different story. I really doubt it if you have explored the Warren Buffet "pre-birth lottery" theory. Of course we bob and weave making what we think are all the right moves while working are ass off, but ones life seems to seek its predetermined destiny. It has been a most interesting thing to experience. I had no idea I would be here now trying to sell you art, let alone my art work. But I am grateful to have had this opportunity to participate in gods gift of life. Its been fun. Well some of it was. In this picture I remember like it was yesterday... After this picture was taken the ladies we dismissed to go frolic....dad tells me.... go grease his logging truck.. 2/9/04. Dad,...aka the Nebraska Kid died today he was 93. went to sleep in the hospital and that was that. I'm pretty sure God is having a very long talk with him about now. I'm getting my story ready I'm on the short list....... 10/9/04. Rose Marie: my youngest sister died today @65. She had heart surgery and never recovered. She was diagnosed with Lupus at 26 and lived a life of pain. Mom passed in 1997 @77. Mary Ellen Died in 1989 @54. It won't be long all of this family will be just a memory...... nothing new there....... Now 72 as I write of this memory today.... ...4 down 3 to go. Ugene |
