big dog

BIG DOG: 1955 Dodge....1973 Chrysler 440 engine. Holly 750 setting on a Mopar dual plain....727 automatic...9" ford rear end.....Chevy 1/2 ton front suspension with disc brakes..... Digital Gauges... boxed frame and x members....Jeep rear springs...Flow masters...Johnny Franklin Headers. front and rear stabilizers. traction bars and more.

I have had this rig since nineteen seventy-seven. I dredged it from the black berry bushes it was in its original paint all intact with a big nasty looking block with no heads or manifold. A massive 3spd automatic and 32k on the meter.  I changed it to a Dodge 340 with the 727. I Started with the original rear end but it was way to low for the street, so I changed it to a Chevy 12 bolt with taller gears. I had not checked the ratio but it was a very good match, I run it that way for years, but wanted more power, better handling and front disc brakes and maybe later back discs to. So I tore it down and changed it to what it is today.

I have decided to keep my truck for a bit longer, so it is not for sale right now. Of course every thing is for sale at the right price. I have it in the paint shop getting prepared for a new paint job. I am keeping a log on its progress as it runs through the process. For more @ the paint shop go to update.
